Course Contents: Brief history of urbanization. Basic concepts. Theories of urbanism. Typologies of cities. Urbanism in Turkey and in other countries. Slum areas in the cities. Urbanism and international influences.
Course Objective: At the end of this course the students learn basic concepts and sociological urban approaches.
Teaching Method: Lectures and classroom discussion.
Assessment Method: Written exams [two midterms (60%) and one final (40%)]
