Course Objectives: By the end of this course the student will be able to develop an understanding of the major issues related to violent and abusive behavior in the family, define and discuss major issues related to abusive behavior towards children and spouses, understand the influences of culture and individual characteristics as they relate to issues of violence in the family including how social, cultural and economic structures, poverty, lack of education may influence family violence and abuse.

Assessment Method: Homework, presentation and short report (one presentation (%25) one report (%25) and one final homework (%50)).
