Course Contents:
Strategies of formal and informal social control mechanisms in different social and cultural contexts
Concepts of control, discipline and punishment
Alternative control mechanisms
Course Objectives: By the end of this course the student will be able to develop an analytical approach to the concepts of punishment and discipline as well as to various mechanisms of social control.
Teaching Method: Lectures, classroom discussions and student presentations
Assessment Method: Homework, presentation and short report. (one presentation (%25) one report (%25) and one final homework (%50))
